Pigna Rossa Montecucco Rosso Riserva 2019
Only 3 km as the crow flies separate the famous Castello Banfi in Brunello di Montalcino and the Begnardi family, which produces the Pigna Rossa Rosso Riserva. The terroir and vinification are practically identical to Brunello di Montalcino. In the second half of September the grapes are harvested by hand and only the best grapes are used for the Riserva. In contrast to the wines in Brunello, the Montecucco wines are more quickly accessible! This wine has a deep amaranth color with garnet reflections. On the nose, the notes of ripe fruit harmonize with those of spices, vanilla and coffee; On the palate the great structure and complexity are combined in a pleasant balance. Only available for a limited time, only around 2,500 bottles are produced per year!
