MAGNUM Podenco Loco 2020 (VIno d'Espana, Blacknose)
We discovered this gem during a holiday on the Balearic island of Ibiza! The wine is produced by the Valais brothers Peter and Tino Lehner. The first vines were planted in 2014. The Cabernet Sauvignon was added in 2016. The 2019 vintage is therefore the first in which a portion of Cabernet was used. The grapes ripen in Sant Joan de Labritja at an altitude of 300-320 m above sea level. The terroir consists of sandstone. The harvest is done by hand. The Blacknose is light ruby red in color with dark reflections. On the nose you can smell ripe red berries with a subtle hint of clove and a nice note of fried bacon. On the palate you will also find ripe and fresh aromas of red berries.
