Belleus IGT Rosso delle Dolomiti 2019
The Belleus is the result of a grape blend from 5 grape varieties that are grown in two different locations. The grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot grow in the early ripening location of St. Peter near Bolzano and, in the slightly later location of Missian in the municipality of Appiano, the varieties Syrah, Merlot and Tempranillo grow. The vines thrive in both locations at around 350 m above sea level. The two different locations equalize the ripening times, so the grapes of all 5 varieties can be harvested at the same time and fermented together. The Belleus has a spicy and berry scent. The good fullness and the long finish are rounded off by a pleasant acidity, which gives the wine its elegant character. Only 2,500 bottles are produced per year!
